In Europe's highest zoo (750 m), the Alpine Zoo in Innsbruck, more than 2,000 animals have found their home in a natural environment. 150 different species show the diversity of the European Alpine region, which is nowhere else to be found in such a complete form in just one place. The first ski jump was located on the mountain as early as 1925. Since 2002, the new ski jump tower has been rising into the sky, its striking design owed to the Iraqi star architect Zaha Hadid. Today, the Bergisel Ski Jump is not only a popular and year-round destination in Innsbruck, but as an FIS competition facility it is also known as one of the venues for the Four Hills Tournament in ski jumping.
